Obituary of Joseph C Nartowicz

Joseph C. Nartowicz, 89, of Stony Point, NY passed away on June 8, 2019. He was born on March 30, 1930 in Hudson, NY to Waclaw & Kamelia (Sokel) Nartowicz. Joe attended school in Hudson, NY and Albany, NY and received his Master’s Degree from Syracuse University. Joseph married the love of his life Rita Stredl of Munich, Germany who predeceased him in 1994.  Joe proudly served his country in the US Army and upon being commissioned to 2^nd LT was immediately stationed in Germany. Joe taught Mathematics in Dryden, NY 1954-1957 the began his career in the North Rockland School District where he taught Math from 1957 – 1971. He was the first Mathematics Coordinator for the North Rockland School District and he retained that position until his retirement in 1991. Joe was the assistant football coach from 1954 – 1966.  The North Rockland 1966 Yearbook was dedicated to him. Joe also had the Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society Chapter named after him. He was also inducted into the North Rockland Sports Hall of Fame. Joe was also a member of the Haverstraw Elks.

Joe is predeceased by his parents, his Wife Rita (1994) and his son Joseph (2016. He is survived by his loving children Rita Nartowicz of Stony Point and his Son Walter Nartowicz of Raleigh, NC. And his adored grandchildren Nicole, Gregory and Christina Nartowicz and his cherished great granddaughter Layla Nartowicz. All service are private.
