Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Ramundo Burns

Haverstraw - Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Ramundo Burns, 73, passed away in the presence of her loving family on December 12, 2018.

Betty Ann grew up in Haverstraw, NY and was cared for by her loving parents, the late John F. Ramundo, Sr. and her loving mother Lena Spicci. Betty attended and graduated from Haverstraw High School. She went to work at Letchworth Village and later retired from Rockland County Department of Social Services. She later went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Michael Burns. They began their family in West Haverstraw. Betty Ann and Michael were blessed by their children, Sherry and Lena.

Betty Ann frequently enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, spending time with her Springer Spaniels, enjoying her grandchildren and cooking for her family.

Later in life Betty Ann and Michael enjoyed retirement by going on cruises, visiting the Golden Nugget Casino and the Jersey Shore.

Betty Ann is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Michael Burns. Her daughters, Sherry (Brian) Walsh, and Lena (Bill) McNamara. Her brothers, John, Jr.(Patty) Ramundo and Robert Ramundo, her sisters Marita (Chris) Buffone , Eileen (Mike) McKenna and Lisa Ramundo. Her beloved grandchildren, Ryan, William, Gina and Victoria and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Betty Ann is predeceased by her parents, John and Lena and also her step mother Dorothy.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
