In Memory of Noe Hamer

Noe Hamer
July 4, 1977 – February 6, 2020

Noe was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico on July 4, 1977. He spent his youth making mischief in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City.  He went on to achieve his Associate Degree in Mortuary Science from the American Academy McAllister Institute in NYC, where his long and storied career in the funeral industry began.

Noe was a Licensed Funeral Director in New York and New Jersey, working in every aspect of the industry until his final role, as General Manager of T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Haverstraw and Garnerville, NY – a role which transformed a 140-year-old business into his community’s true center of healing and warmth. Noe was passionate about his work and was always thinking and dreaming about how to help honor the lives of everyone that came into his care.

On September 1, 2019, Noe married his true Queen and soulmate, his adoring bride Rosalinda, whom he worshiped and adored above all else in his life. They lived in West Haverstraw with Noe’s mother Luisa and their three pit bulls – Candy, Cotton, and Sugar – all of whom Noe spoiled and doted on with every ounce of love in his enormous heart. He adored his beloved San Francisco 49ers and of course watched them play this year’s Superbowl at a joyful party he and Rosa threw for his friends and colleagues.

In his very limited spare time, Noe loved cigars, tinkering with wristwatches, his Harleys, and dogs of all kinds. He lived to make people laugh and made it his life’s mission to improve the lives of everyone he encountered. Noe succeeded in this endeavor each and every day of his life. He was a true role model and a friend to all.

Noe is survived by his beloved wife Rosalinda Hamer; his loving mother Luisa Hamer; his cherished siblings: George (Jenny) Hamer, Rosalba Hamer, Rosaycela (Mario) Hernandez, and Ruby (Michael) Hamer; his beloved nieces: Emma, Gina, and Darcy (Brendan) Amber; and by his three dogs Candy, Cotton and Sugar, as well as countless friends and colleagues. He is predeceased by his father George Hamer.

In honor of Noe, please donate in his memory to Hi-Tor Animal Shelter, 65 Firemens Memorial Drive, Pomona NY 10970, or to your favorite animal charity.
