Obituary of Ignazio Scaglione

Ignazio Scaglione, 86, of West Haverstraw, NY, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 30, 2017. Ignazio was born on April 22, 1931 in San Piero Patti, Italy to his late and loving parents Carmelo and Catena Scaglione. Before coming to America, he served in the Italian Army. He worked for many years for the Rockland County Highway Department as a skilled laborer. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and enjoyed vegetable gardening. Ignazio is predeceased by his beloved wife, Angela Frontino Scaglione, his sister Carmella Scaglione, brothers-in-law Giovanni Scaglione and Santo Frontino, and his sister-in-law Maria Pino. Ignazio is survived by his children: Carmelo "Charlie" (Maria) Scaglione of West Haverstraw, Jimmy Scaglione of West Haverstraw, and Lina (Donny) Florin of Stony Point; by his grandchildren: Anthony Scaglione, Vincent Scaglione, Angelina Florin and Lucia Florin; by his sisters-in-law: Josephine Verde, Giovanna Frontino and Rita Miller; his brother-in-law Anthony Frontino, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ignazio's family will receive friends at T.J. McGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, 133 Broadway, HAVERSTRAW, NY on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 7-9 PM, and on Thursday, November 2nd from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ignazio on Friday, November 3 at 9:45 AM at St. Peter's Church, Haverstraw, with interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Haverstraw.
